Ribbonesia is the creation of Japanese artist and illustrator Baku Maeda; its an art project where three-dimensional animals are created using ribbons and other fabric materials. Baku had been using brush and pen as the extension of his hands along with his imagination in the past. But in the last couple of years, he found more interest in expressing his creativity using ribbons and other fabric-like materials in 3 dimensional and sculptural way. Recently he has been working with many colors of ribbons and the simple repetition of the twist and bend creates these delicate animals. Each of these animals is unique and different as every animal is made by hand.
