Leander Nets Ameesha As Lead; Signs Up For Acting School
He's readying to net gains in field of cinebiz. Leander Paes, tennis ace who's gearing up to embrace cinema has been pencilled in for 'Rajdhani Express' and all rumours regarding his female lead came to rest when Ameesha Patel made the cut, finally.
States a close source, "Actually, Leander has been offered films since the last 15 years, but he agreed to director Ashok Kohli's film since it's all about the common man. Incidentally, there were many girls in contention for the role, though ultimately it's Ameesha Patel who's landed the role finally. After her break up with Kanav Puri, she signed up for Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Power' and now 'Rajdhani Express too."
Confirming the development in a media chat, Ameesha states, "I'm doing the film and it's a completely new challenge for me, because it's a very fast paced plot. Sports and glamour go hand in hand and Leander is at the top of the game. There will be plenty of curiosity about how good an actor he is."
Word has it that Paes' busy honing his histrionics at Anupam Kher's acting academy.
Guess, he can genuinely act up now….
