Monikangana: 'Designer Sabyasachi is my acting teacher!'
While the world and it's brother is gushing over Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 'Guzaarish', a newbie too is biding her time for the Big Time spotlight.
Model turned actress Monikangana Dutta, the dusky beauty will show up in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie in a pivotal debut. The newbie, meanwhile, has already learnt the art of generating headlines. Among the gems that stem from her… sample this one.
"Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is my acting guru," she declares in a media quote. "It may surprise you, but he's a great actor. He's the one who actually taught me how to act, before I actually started shooting for my debut film."
The famed model who quit modelling at the acme of her career to pursue cinebiz states, "It was tough giving it up, since I was at my peak. It's like starting all over again. But then I'm a chameleon and am ready to change my colours now."
Moni, as she's fondly called, however, has made a notable exception for an international lingerie brand, since she was chosen for it by the agency that handles the work of luminaries such as Gisele Bundchen, Julianne Moore and Naomi Campbell.
"I've always dreamt of being picked up for this lingerie brand ever since I was a teenager," she states. "Every girl wants to be the name and face of this lingerie brand."
