All this hype can make anyone get upset and want to bash things. But its not worth it. Just keep your shirt on and be patient! I've been stuck with my iPhone 3G. I was gonna upgrade to the iPhone 4 last summer but lost my job and had to wait. I got married and had to jump on my wife's Verizon plan to save money. When the iPhone 4 came to Verizon I was so excited I was gonna do what I could to get it, but still had to wait. Yeah, I got caught up in the hype, but after calming down and thinking WISELY, waiting just a bit longer is not gonna hurt anything. In fact I really want a White iPhone 4, and Im glad I didn't waste money on a black iPhone just because its there.
In the mean time, paying attention to the rumors is good. Seeing some of the odd stuff posted in the forums by members is comical at times. But if we all just chill out and check the main page every few days we will see more stuff leaked.
Just remember, there are people out there that just might leave there iPhone 5 test mule sitting on a bar stool for someone else to find and post about it on the internet....

crap. :( I just got a new phone.Same here. I just got a LG cu500 from Cingular to use as a mobile broadband modem. I have one month to return it, which is proof that Apple will come out with a G3 phone/ipod/can opener in 32 days.

So. Errm. I have a question.
I have a MBP as in my sig. Actually that is the second one I have. First one got damaged by Apple, this second one is currently with Apple and has been for the last 4 weeks. It only went in to repair the fried BT.
Anyway. Since buying my first MBP in February and receiving the replacement in June which is now back with Apple. I have only had around 4 weeks usuage out of my machine and to this date I am still not using my MBP I originally purchased in February. Every time I call Apple to ask where my machine is they tell me that it will be with me the following week.
So what are the chances of Apple upgrading me to a new Merom MBP eh. What you think?:confused:

Can you give the non-storybook reason for why he died and what actually happened?
I get that we encountered a monster, and via a random.org assignment, the monster took his 1HP/1AP and took out Wilmer. Rhon then attacked the 1 HP/0AP monster and vanquished the goblin into eternity.

The promo has nothing to do with new launches...they are completely independent and serve a public that is not interested nor in need of a cutting-edge notebook. The combo MB x iPod is wonderful for most, and it will be attractive even if the Merom notes are in the market.
Right and they will be updated when there ready. The updated Books will not be a qualifying Mac for the Free iPod.

I don't know if I buy this whole shortage thing.
If there is such a big shortage, why aren't people/businesses creating more production plants and capitalizing on the demand (which is only getting started from the looks of it). Where there is serious demand there is serious $$$ to be made!
It seems like basic economics to me but I've been wrong before...
Lg and Samsung both are completing multi billion $ plants mid 2011 for OLED panels that next gen iPhones and iPad's will use - Apple has already ordered over $7 billion $ of production to run on these lines.
If there is such a big shortage, why aren't people/businesses creating more production plants and capitalizing on the demand (which is only getting started from the looks of it). Where there is serious demand there is serious $$$ to be made!

Apple could make a whole range of phones in different sizes, from different materials at different price points.
Apple could licence iOS to others to make phones running their OS thus opening up iTunes sales to an even larger audience.
I don't expect Apple will do either.
Only in the long term future will we be able to look back to now and know if Apple did the right thing, and grew to be one of the world leaders or died a slow and painful death.
Anyone got a crystal ball, or know Dr Who? ;)

Which leaves the only concern left being clarify of calls.
I went on a drive on my lunch and received my first call through the TomTom kit today. What I can say is that the speaker clarity was good and the mic picked up my voice suprisingly good for the distance I had it from the driver's seat. I had it mounted on the windshield. However, I did find myself talking a bit louder than normal to ensure the mic would pick up everything, and it did. Throughout the conversation, the person I was talking on the phone with never asked me to repeat anything. I was able to carry on a conversation throughout my drive as I normally would in my car - hands free :p
The speaker volume on the TomTom kit leaves a little bit to desired in my opinion. I found myself constantly moving the volume switch up, but wasn't sure it was on its highest setting because it isn't a 'dial' type adjuster. Although the speaker was loud enough to hear, I wanted it a little louder. However, this may be because my car does not dampen road noise very well. I'm sure your sedan will be much quiter and the speaker volume will be adequate. The speaker quality is clear enough to hold a conversation.

I still don't get the outrage of many people. From all the 'tracking issues' out there, this is the one to worry the least about since it is only on your device and is not send to anyone.
If you really worry about anyone knowing where you are or have been, there are better 'targets' to go after, some where information is really send and analyzed by people 'out of your control'.

If the tablet had built-in Bluetooth and could use a wireless keyboard and mouse then it could replace a notebook computer. Maybe the keyboard snaps on and acts as a cover for the tablet screen. Maybe it's like a Macbook that come apart at the hingebut also you can write on the screen. You have to figure Apple is doing something different but yet this thing still runs the same Mac OS X Leopard as the other Macs.

Here's my beef with cloud services, as concisely as I can make it:
Data storage is cheap.
Networking (away from home) is costly.
I absolutely DO NOT want to rely on my AT&T data plan to get at stuff. Wi-fi, okay, when I'm at home, but then I might as well keep things on hard drives on the local network, rather than have to reach across the whole damn Internet via my DSL drop.
But knowing Apple, they will do it anyway and wait for all their partners' tech to catch up with theirs. :rolleyes:
